COURSE ASTR 101: BASIC ANSA FOR STRUCTURE MODELLING.

Prerequisites:

- Must have a basic knowledge of Finite Elements.

- No prior Preprocessing experience needed.

   3. Mid – planning.

1. Shell Meshing:
   1. Manual Meshing.
   2. Batch Meshing.
   3. Post Batch Meshing practices.
   4. Initial and thickness penetration correction.
   5. Changing mesh without geometry - Mesh Reconstruction.

1. Welding and other connections:
   1. Automatic weld generation.
   2. Mesh dependant and mesh independent welds.
   3. Seam welds.
   4. Automatic bolt generation.
   5. Manual bolt creation.
   6. Line element modification.
   7. Connecting Fe to Geometry – Auto paste.
2. Solid Meshing:
   1. Hexa solids.
   2. Tetra solids 1st or 2nd order.
3. Part Manipulation:
   1. Merging options.
   2. Replacing options.
   3. Saving options.
   4. Input/Output FE.
4. Model Checks:
   1. Shell checks.
   2. Solid checks.
   3. 1d checks.
   4. Whole model checks.
5. Decks:
   1. Sets.
   2. Contacts.
   3. 1D element (RBE2s, BEAMS).
   4. Anything else as requested in class.
